Equipment rental agreement form template

This agreement is between {business} (the “Owner”) and {renter_name} (the “Renter”), made on {today}.

1. Equipment. The Owner rents the Renter: {equipment}.
2. Rental period. From {rental_start} to {rental_end}. A late return is charged at the same daily rate for each extra day.
3. Fees. The rental fee is {rental_fee}. A refundable deposit of {deposit} is paid before pickup and returned once the equipment comes back clean and undamaged.
4. Care and use. The Renter will use the equipment safely, for its normal purpose, following any instructions given, and won’t lend or sub-rent it.
5. Damage and loss. The Renter is responsible for loss, theft or damage beyond normal wear while it’s in their care, up to the cost of repair or replacement.
6. Risk. The Renter uses the equipment at their own risk and is responsible for any injury or damage it causes while in their care, except where caused by a defect the Owner knew about.
7. General. This is the whole agreement. Electronic signatures are valid and binding.
